Murugan Fires the Humor Powder.

some say it's like one plate masala dosa, Some say it
like Chicken Biryani, but its a western spoof with attitude, featuring outlandish songs, outrageous melodrama and crazy action sequences including a classic duel in a traffic jam.

Rajendra Prasad's performance in the movie finally stole the show. The acting part has taken the Quick gun to a different level altogether.

He is simply fantastic, its a watch-it-to-believe it performance.

f you have beeen cheated by your funky girlfriend & felling hurt. just run to the multiplex & laugh like you have never been in your life.

It's a sweet ,simple , & very short which will disappear your moments of despair.
In between the movie Tamil subtitles may be annoying at times and as well as the bright costumes, which are way too heavy .

The movie consists of funny dialogues, a different kind of mixed acting and action. What is an absolute no-no for most films today, is exactly what works for Quick Gun.

One of the interesting part is about the movie it forced Shashi tharoor to come in to the mutiplex after he went for the first time in 70's.

Shashanka Ghosh has shown lot of creativity in his direction with brilliant writing and the concept.

The gunpower of humor comes out from the bullet fired by Murugun in the end.
SO MIND IT.

Now Delhi High Court Questions over Sach Ka Samna

alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361982226452464306" />

It was only the second week of the latest hot show on the small screen when the politicians raised this issue in Parliament that Star Plus' reality show Sach Ka Saamna should be banned because it is encouraging vulgarity, embarrassing family audiences and destroying Indian culture, the Information and Broadcast ministry sent a legal notice to the channel, asking them to defend the show.

Are we as a society still scared to talk openly about certain supposedly 'sex ' issues which most people face in their everyday lives? And is doing that going to destroy Indian culture? "What is Indian culture? Our culture is so diverse and there are so many facets. But everything gets politicised without understanding this.

So does the family audience cringe when Vinod Kambli is asked if he has cheated on his wife or when Urvashi Dholakia is asked if she was asked to leave school because she was pregnant? If so, then why are they watching the show at all?

TV personality Renuka Shahane feels that the fact that the show is being talked about so much means people are watching it. "Why are we getting scandalised? Are we such regressive souls? Whoever is coming on the show knows exactly what they are doing. And people watch these shows because humans have a vicarious psychology."

Kabir Bedi who was offered to go on the show as a participant turned it down. "I didn't go because I have said in my book all that I had to," he says. "It's not about the morality; it's about the law -- whether it's legal or illegal. The format of the show is such that questions are bound to be extremely personal. You don't go around banning things because you don't like it."

This is not the first time it happened ........

A complaint of alleged obscenity was slapped on Bigg Boss 2. The Lonavala police registered an FIR against three inmates of the house based on a complaint made by the Mumbai Youth Congress Committee alleging that the show "bred vulgarity, indecency and indecent representation of women."

Delhi High court issues licence for gays

Its party time for homosexuals! Finally the Delhi high court has taken a historical decision of accepting homosexuality and not considering it as a crime any more.
All thanks to an NGO named NAS foundation that filed a petition in the Delhi high court to amend article 377 that considered homosexuality a crime.

The petition was filed in the year 2001 and it took 8 long years for the high court to take this decision. Not only is the gay community happy with this decision, celebrities supporting the gay community too expressed their happiness.

This decision has brought the happiness on the face of the different groups including the Gays communities as wells celebrity like Celina Jaitley who wrote about hoe homosexuals are being exploited in the society on her blog all time & came in to news.

Its celebration time for Bollywood celebrity Bobby Darling! Originally known as Pankaj Sharma, Bobby darling today is on cloud no 9. Thanks to the Delhi high Court’s decision that has given him and his gay friends a place in the society.
Actress Celina Jaitley claims that her happiness has no limits.. She says that being a gay activist has not been easy for her; she has received many threats from many cultural groups and has also lost out on work.

Yet, today she is happy and believes that it is a very important day in the history of human rights, as the gay community will receive their basic human rights today. Being a part of the Bollywood industry, she said Indian movies portrays homosexuality either in a very serious art form of cinema or in a funny manner, the compassionate side of it has never been revealed in the films. Looks like for her this contribution towards the society; her fans would like to address her as Celina “Jai”teri instead.

Several gay activists said the judgment would see more people coming out of the closet. Many said it was a ‘‘great victory’’ over an archaic and bizarre law and it could mark the beginning of the end of discrimination in social, educational and professional spheres. ‘‘Nobody chooses his or her sexual orientation. So, you can’t prohibit same sex relationships. The order shows that India is ‘‘really in the 21st century’’.

‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’ in trouble

The latest reality show on NDTV Imagine “Rakhi Ka Swayamvar” is feeling the heat from the different groups just before its telecast of the first episode. The producers have received two legal notices from two diverse groups – a Gay political party and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The gay notice accuses the show of being discriminatory, while the government acted after some civil groups complained about forgery on the show. Producers have got one week to respond to both the notices.
The gay notice has been issued by the recently formed political party Bharatiya Samlaingik Party (BSP), which wonders why there are no girls among the suitors’ list of Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. As per as the show is concerned , Rakhi Ka Swayamvar is a show where the great television actress Rakhi Sawant would marry one of the suitors (contestants of the reality show). There are sixteen suitors on the show, all of whom are apparently male.
“The show typecasts and reinforces a typical medieval mentality that a woman should marry only a man and vice versa. This is a kind of retrogressive show, which is highly discriminatory to the homosexuals. We demand that a couple of women, preferably lesbians, are also inducted in the show and are given equal opportunity to compete.” BSP president Ahmed Anju Iyer told after taking part in a gay pride parade in Bengaluru.
Mr. Iyer dismissed the charges that such a demand interferes with the creative rights of the
Mr. Iyer dismissed the charges that such a demand interferes with the creative rights of the producers. He cited the instance of RPI(A) leader Ramdas Athavale accusing a television channel of bias when he was dropped as a contestant from the reality show “Big Boss”. Mr. Athavale had claimed discrimination on the grounds of him being a dalit and his supporters had attacked the offices of the television channel. BSP president didn’t rule out similar reaction from gay groups.

The producers of Rakhi Ka Swayamvar has not commented on the on the charges of BSP, the inside news is that the gay notice has caused some high level meetings to take place in the channel to discuss the ramifications of the development. The agenda of such meetings also involved discussions on the other notice received from the government that accused the producers and the show of forgery.

The second notice was sent by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting after various civil groups suspected that Rakhi Sawant was faking all the shyness, nervousness and excitement ahead of her televised marriage. The groups fear that such a shocking behaviour on-screen in their living rooms will have adverse impact on the younger generation. They dread that their kids might completely misunderstand the meaning of these feelings and emotions. These groups have termed Rakhi’s alleged make-believe expressions as “Silicon Shyness”.

“The show is full of plastic and silicon, there is hardly anything natural to witness and feel. Has the government wondered what kind of impact it will have on our children, who are the future of this country? Do we want a generation that has only plastic smiles and silicon shyness to offer? This ‘reality’ show is a travesty of reality, it’s nothing but forgery and it must be stopped immediately.”

Best of LUCK Rakhi

Neetu Chandra Develops Cold Feet After MNS Controversy!

After facing the wrath of political affiliates while doing a bold and scandalous bikini photo shoot for a men’s magazine, actress Neetu Chandra has now developed cold feet.

Recently, while the actress was shooting for The Man magazine at a 3-star hotel with model Krishikka Gupta, a group of regular male customers started shouting ‘Jai Maharashtra’ slogans and threatened action from Raj Thackeray’s Maharashrtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). They even tried to confiscate the camera, resulting in the shoot having to be abruptly called off.

After talking about the incident, the actress has suddenly developed cold feet. In an attempt to backtrack and do a volte-face, Neetu has now stated on her Facebook account, “nothing like that ever happened”.

Earlier, Neetu was quoted by Mid-Day, saying, “The hotel management didn't tell us to leave because of complaints from other guests but it was a mob of over 80 people that disrupted the shoot… They were being a nuisance and that's why we halted the shoot.”

In The Asian Age today, she has given contradictory quotes feigning ignorance. “I didn’t know anything about this controversy… It was shocking… Neither our bodies were touching, nor are we kissing… I am a Bihari and this can cause a lot of trouble.”

But publicist Dale Bhagwagar who broke the news, has stuck to the report. “It’s strange that Neetu is trying to take the media for a ride now, denying the whole incident. A lot of people were witness to it. Above all, I have Neetu on record talking much more about the incident and indecent attitude of the group that created the ruckus and brought the shoot to a halt,” said the publicist.

In Neetu’s words (recorded) to the publicist, she has stated, that “the shoot was about how men find sensual female bodies very attractive. It was aesthetically done but the public did not let the shoot happen and we had to cancel it. The members of this group were chauvinist attention seekers. We are part of a hypocrite society and these were frustrated old men. When females are around in bikini and swimwear, they (such men) always want attention… ke humein bhi dekho. But who wants to see them?”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By now, almost everyone in the world has heard the terms outsourcing and call centers. You know that the terms have entered the public consciousness when Hollywood and Bollywood start making films about the lifestyle that has developed around these wonders of modern customer service. For the few that aren’t aware, chances are that when you pick up the phone and dial that one eight hundred number, you won’t be reaching someone local, but rather, your call will go thousands of miles away to a call center in India.

So, what if you call your bank for some tender loving care and an attractive sounding person picks up on the other end of the line? Can love be sparked from thousands of miles away? Is life truly full of surprises? Would you fall in love with someone you’ve never seen? What happens when cultures clash? “The Other End of the Line” is a film that presents us with some wonderful light-hearted answers to those questions in a breezy romantic manner.

Call centers have created a sub-culture, and several movies have tried to capitalize on this. Films like the Bollywood film “Hello” and the Hollywood film “Outsourced” have resorted to clichéd situations and campy humor, but what sets “The Other End of the Line” apart from those other rom coms (romantic comedies) is that the humor is not forced down the audience’s throat, nor is the romance. Instead, both come off with a sweet sensitivity, resulting in a film that is not only entertaining, but tugs at the heart strings as well.

As for the story itself, it focuses on Priya Sethi portrayed excellently by Bollywood actor Shriya Saran, a Mumbaiite working at a call center. Answering customer service questions for Americans, requires her to “fool” her clients into believing that she is right around the corner, in the good ole U.S. of A. She’s bored with life, and engaged to a momma’s boy that she finds a bit repulsive. Jesse Metcalf plays Granger Woodruff (a groan inducing name), an ad executive halfway around the world. You see, he’s going through some tough times, with his job, with his girlfriend, and with his life. Looks like he needs some Indian fusion love stat! The two make a love connection over the phone, and Priya decides to fly to San Francisco to meet the man whose voice she’s fallen in love with. Unfortunately, Granger has no idea that the woman that he’s been talking to on the phone is actually Indian and not American.

Director James Dodson, has a light handed approach, switching locales from India to San Francisco with ease, giving each of the cast an opportunity to be in the spotlight in a way that leaves the viewer pleasantly surprised by the wit of the screenplay. The screenplay, written by Tracy Jackson, requires a bit of the old suspension of disbelief during several moments as the coincidences pile up, yet as a viewer (and romantic at heart), we always find ourselves touched by romance done right in a movie. What elevates the screenplay is the quite apparent chemistry between Saran and Metcalf. The two actors are instrumental in conveying the first flutterings of love, with Indian and American spices thrown into the mix. Saran in particular really steals the show, as she is able to show a wide range of emotions as the woman who is putting her heart on the line. Still, the two would be nowhere without the excellent supporting cast consisting of Anupam Kher (star of numerous films like "Bend it Like Beckham" and "A Wednesday") who plays the Indian girl’s overly hyperventilating father Rajeev Sethi. It’s his character’s traditional Indian values that drive him to try and “save” his Indian daughter from the “lecherous” American boy. Also of note, is the oddball humor that is brought into play by comedian/actor Larry Miller (“Get Smart”) whose role as the eccentric owner Kit Kawkskin of the hotel that has hired Granger’s ad agency brings just enough quirkiness to the film, to lighten every frame he is in.

I have to mention that the film on the whole has a very romantic light ‘n’ airy feel to it throughout, and that’s thanks to the very good work by cinematographer Harlan Bosmajian. The editing by Ethan Maniguis allows the film to breathe without stretching the plot interminably and keeps the viewer interested all through the movie. All in all, a fine looking motion picture produced by Ashok Amritraj (who has previously produced quite a few films, including the Steve Martin movie, “Shopgirl”). Bollywood producer Adlabs and Hollywood’s MGM studio have gotten together to create a movie that rises above to become that elusive creature that all studios hope for, namely, an entertaining film.

Will Granger accept that he has fallen in love with an Indian girl? Will the girl’s father save her from the American Boy? Will the Indian girl live happily ever after as she chases her dream of marrying someone she actually loves? Will Granger be able to dodge rickshaws to reach the girl he loves!?!? Why is it that Granger doesn’t need to stand in line to get a tourist visa!?! Tune in to the breezy, light hearted, romantic comedy, “The Other End of the Line” to find out!
